  Did God really say that . . . Does God really not approve of same-sex marriage? Does God really not want you to celebrate Christmas and birthdays? Does your God really expect you to refuse a blood transfusion? Does a loving God really expect you to avoid association with disfellowshipped loved ones?’

  This is a very filthy tactic of Watchtower. With this paragraph they equate valid questions that each believer should ask themselves with Satan's question.

  People should ask themselves 'is what I believe really true?' and then do proper research to find out.

  Watchtower wants people to reject the questions right away and then make themselves believe without doubt.

  All that has nothing to do with reasoning. It's just silly and unwise.

  This is interesting!

  German JW are invited to go to Bolivia for a 2 month long preaching campaign, primarily in Mennonite territory. (Mennonites speak a sort of German)

  I wonder if the WT will arrange transportation like with international conventions and make some money of it.

  Is this the first German dubs are called to do this?

  Is this going to be a repeat event?

  Dear Alex,

  You're not telling anyone here anything new. Your approach is like the approach of a salesman who keeps pushing after you told him you already owned the product, it sucked, and you'll never buy that product again.
  It's counterproductive and a waste of both your and our time.

  You have our permission to write some field service hours on your report slip for preaching on this forum even without writing new posts.

  Oh, and it looks like you're violating Watchtower copyright. Some people on the internet have experienced that Watchtower doesn't take lightly to that. Watchtower are willing to sue people over putting a single image from their literature on the internet unauthorized. So don't be surprised when Watchtower's lawyers come knocking on your door....

  The congregations bought those carts. No individual JW owns the damn thing. Imagine if an individual JW would sell the cart on eBay, see what happens. Let's just see who claims to be the owner in that situation.
  
  But they're prepared to lie in official police reports?

  And while in all instructions JW doing cart work are told they are doing that as a personal activity, not organised by or on behalf of the Congregation of JW, in these cases they suddenly have to claim they are official JW ministers?

  Ugh. Watchtower plays the cover-your-ass game very well.

  more than 70 victims of sexual abuse within the jehovah's witnesses have come forward with their stories since the public network aired a documentory about it last week, reports the nonprofit organisation reclaimed voices belgium.. the documentary brought to light that the organisation had been covering up sexual abuse of minors via an internal 'disciplinary' system for years, concluded pano.

  that way, none of the claims were reported to the police.

  one of the witnesses in the documentary was very straightforward in calling it "a paradise for paedophiles".according to ciaosn, an independent centre set up by belgium's department of justice to study sectarian organisations, there are similar findings in 12 other countries.

  These brothers are probably not pimo at all. They are just very good at compartmentalizing different (contradictory) beliefs, and/or their statements are true but need to be seem in context.

  1) 99.99% of JW women are not inferior to men. 'Weaker vessel' means 'more precious, like expensive porcelain', not 'breaks easier and is thus worth less' in JW speak. To JW this view is 100% compatible with the belief that only men should lead, are head of their wife, and women must be in submission. The statement made in the talk doesn't deviate from JW doctrine.

  2) Same. They have to see everyone as a potential JW so they will try to recruit them. Believing some people are just bad would make them not preach to that person. At the same time 'the world' is seen as bad, and again these ideas are wholly compatible with each other in JW land.

  3) Again: individual JW should not be judging. They shouldn't judge elders or other overlords. Don't judge. Elders shouldn't make rules that Watchtower hasn't cooked up themselves because that would be pharasaic. However elders judging people, and Watchtower coming up with all kinds of strange rules is A-OK because somehow the 'don't judge' thing doesn't apply to them.

  One doesn't need to be pimo to have some decent ideas in a talk. Half of what JW believe is good and uplifting and positive. The other half sucks though.

  International convention Utrecht this weekend

  in an earlier posting gorby wrote about attending the international convention in utrecht this weekend, to keep the family happy and make some observations.. guests were gb member jackson and his assistent van der zande, a dutch helper of the gb.. 42.000+ attenders and +/- 250 baptisers.. the convention theme about "love" was not bad at all, from a christian viewpoint.. jackson and van der zande made a good presentation with humor.. the colorfull witness from arround the word were nice and nice to see.. typical witness doctrine about 1914, king of the north, being obient when your kingdom hall will be sold etcetera were hard to listen to.. but the love theme was not bad, and sometimes oké.. i see a transformation to an evangelical kind of tv church.. ifthe typical jw doctrine about years, endtime, education, blood and armageddon would be downplayed, gorby could see some positive side of jw-ism.. mainpoint is that jw try to show love but on a forced base, because they are told to do so.. but, not a bad convention, and a good, humble part of jackson and van der zande, did not expect this.. i write some positive because it is, what it is.. see your opinion.. gorby.

  I'm happy you survived and focused on the positive. Also good for you to speak that part here.

  It's my opinion that about half of what JW say, believe and do is uplifting, positive, inspiring, and generally good.

  The other half of what they say, believe, and do however......
